About the program

Ingorokva University Clinic ("High Medical Technology Center, University Clinic") together with Tbilisi State Medical University implements a neurosurgery residency program. The head of the said residency program is Professor Shota Ingorokva, head of the Department of Neurosurgery.

I year

Basic disciplines

  1. 1.1. neuroanatomy — 2 months;
  2. 1.2. Neurology — 2 months;
  3. 1.3. Pathomorphology — 1 month;
  4. 1.4. resuscitation — 2 months;
  5. 1.5. Neuroradiology — 2 months;
  6. 1.6. Traumatology-orthopaedics - 2 months.
II year

Surgical basics

  1. 2.1. General surgery — 5 months;
  2. 2.2. Oncology — 2 months;
  3. 2.3. Anesthesiology — 2 months;
  4. 2.4. Vascular surgery — 2 months.
III year

General neurosurgery

  1. 3.1. General neurosurgery — 11 months.
IV year

Neurotrauma and blood vessels

  1. 4.1. Neurotrauma — 6 months;
  2. 4.2. Vascular neurosurgery — 5 months.
V year

Specialized surgery

  1. 5.1. Peripheral nerve surgery — 1 month;
  2. 5.2. Neuro-oncology — 9 months;
  3. 5.3. Children's neurosurgery — 1 month.
VI year

Final specialization

  1. 6.1. Children's neurosurgery (continued) — 3 months;
  2. 6.2. Spinal neurosurgery — 4 months;
  3. 6.3. Endoscopic neurosurgery — 4 months.
